Lost Mission /// One Less Fish In The Sea /// Lindsey + Cooper, The Heirloom Film

Fate has a funny way of showing itself - especially when you attend an event where you meet your future wife after your mother says “Find a nice, German girl at the festival.” It could be fate, or it could be mother’s intuition. Whatever it is, Lindsey and Cooper were destined to meet that day 12 years ago and “Prost!” their way to a long and happy life together.

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Lindsey and Cooper became husband and wife on the most perfect spring day at Lost Mission in Spring Branch. Lindsey wore a stunning heirloom ring that had been passed down from her Great-Grandmother and worn by 6 other members of her family.

It was clear that Lindsey and Cooper put much of themselves and their personalities into the decor - from the fish and coastal themed cakes showcasing their love of fishing together to the wine barrel bearing their new names and displaying their love of all things wine and Napa!

One of their closest friends owns a winery in the Napa valley and was the most perfect officiant for Lindsey and Cooper’s ceremony: telling anecdotes and jokes that wonderfully represented Lindsey and Cooper’s relationship and love for life.

Wine flowed and dancing commenced and lasted all night long! Lindsey’s parents gushed over their daughter and new son. Larry Taylor, Lindsey’s father, even mentioned how Cooper knew exactly when to ask for his daughter’s hand: during a fishing trip when the fish were biting extremely well!

Lindsey shared the proposal story with us:

Cooper made us dinner reservations for a nice dinner on a Monday at 5:00pm. I thought that 5pm was a little early to have dinner but I was not going to say anything because I knew this restaurant was popular and hard to get into. Earlier that day he told me that he read on a private scuba diving blog that there was a hammerhead shark spotted at Smith Cove. Needless to say all day Monday he was talking about how he wanted to go to Smith Cove and look for the shark. Ironically, I had just read an article about a hammerhead shark spotted near shore, but the article I read the shark was in Florida. Cooper said that I stumped him when I told him that, so he was scrambling to get the ins and outs of his story to make me still believe him. As we were driving to dinner he asked if we could stop into Smith Cove. We get out of the car and I notice there are tons of swimmers and snorkelers. We are walking around the beach at Smith Cove and Cooper tells me that he wants to get a closer look and wants to walk out on the limestone coral rocks to better see the water. He takes off and turns around and notices that I am still on the beach. He asked me to follow him and I told him I could not walk on the rocks because I had wedge shoes on and I would break my ankle! He tries to convince me, but I am rather stubborn. When I noticed his frustration and him talking between his teeth I took my shoes off and walked out on the sharp rocks. We stood over the water looking for this shark, I turned to look back at the beach and when I turned back to Cooper, he was on one knee!

Lindsey + Cooper,

Once again, getting to know y’all and hearing stories about your amazing adventures was incredibly special to us! We were moved watching you both interact with your family and friends, clearly seeing the love you all share for one another. You’ve truly found your one fish in the sea.

XOXO,

Philbrook Museum of Art /// Forever Kind of Love /// Emelie + Eric, The Memory Tin

Faith is like the wind, you cannot see it, but you can feel it.  It is a rare instance to find someone with a faith so strong that it seems to be a palpable, living thing - and even more rare when two of these someones find each other in life. But Eric and Emelie did indeed find each other, and their wedding at the Philbrook Museum of Art was a true celebration of their love and devotion, not only to the other, but to God and their families as well.

Emelie’s gown was stunning with long, jeweled sleeves in a vintage shade. She looked every bit the beautiful bride as she was escorted down the aisle by her parents.   A full choir burst into song, singing “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee” as Emelie and Eric were pronounced husband and wife by their officiant, who just happened to be Emelie’s father! Their vows were perfectly coordinated with matching bible verses that fit perfectly with their ceremony.

What would a wedding be without cake! Emelie and Eric indulged in 2 cake cuttings: one with a stunning multi-tiered cake complete with sugar flowers, and another with Eric’s cake celebrating his love for the Chicago Cubs.

After all the dancing and celebrating, Emelie and Eric made their way to their getaway limo amidst a shower of confetti and cheers. Our favorite moment was when they stopped and took the time to dole out hugs and whispered words to as many loved ones as they could before they drove off.

The Proposal:

Emelie shared:

"We met at Oklahoma State University in November 2008. Over the next year (2009) we became very close friends, and became officially a couple on January 23rd 2010. Eric and I got engaged on January 23rd 2015… Exactly 5 years to the day that we started dating. He proposed at The Summit Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After that we had a private dinner together, and to my surprise our family and friends were down stairs waiting for us to have a surprise engagement party. It was an amazing night! :)"

Emelie and Eric:

Your strength in your faith and your devotion to one another is on a level to which we should all strive. Your smiling faces and the way that you treasure all of your loved ones that celebrated your day with you is heartwarming and inspiring. Thank you for letting us share your day with you and allowing us to create something that will help you to relive this day over and over again.

The Lodge At Bridal Veil Falls // The Newly-Webbs // Maddi and Dalton, the Locket

“Have a happy life and share your happiness with others. Happiness is difficult to give away and it keeps coming back to you”

These hallowed words were memorialized by Maddi’s late grandfather and revisited by her brother on the happiest day of her life. These words are ones that we all can live by each and everyday of our own lives.

With the quiet murmur of a waterfall and surrounded by their family and friends, Maddi and Dalton said “I do” on May 20th at the Lodge at Bridal Veil Falls. The venue, located in Spring Branch, is a natural retreat deep in Texas Hill Country. Will captivating waterfalls and spectacular views, Maddi and Dalton couldn’t have chosen a more perfect location for their wedding.

Her stunning dress was a work of art as it hung in a mirrored room and completely breathtaking once Maddi put it on. Her bridesmaids chanted her name and cheered when they finally saw her for the first time!

Their love of their two dogs was apparent as they both made an appearance - as a cake topper! Since they love being outdoors and spending time with their pups, it only made sense.

Maddi, Dalton, and their guests were tearing up the dance floor well into the evening.  The bride and groom left their sweet celebration by charging through a sea of sparklers!

The Proposal: Maddi told us:  "A typical weekday, we decided to have a date night. We took the dogs to a lake nearby and had a picnic. After munching a bit and drinking some wine, we got up to throw the ball for the dogs. He started getting all mushy, saying a bunch of sweet things. I immediately got awkward, feeling like I need to say a bunch of sweet things (I may have interrupted him a bit to get in a few niceties). But then he got down on one knee. He was disappointed (but not surprised) that I responded by putting my hands on my hips in an "are you joking?" manner instead of doing the typical hands cover the mouth in shock move. Disclaimer, he has definitely joked about proposing before! Anyhoo, I realized he was for real, so of course I said yes. We hug and kiss, then I heard screaming from behind some far away bushes. He enlisted Kayla Patterson and a couple other close friends to stake us out and take pictures of the whole thing. They came running over with the camera and some champagne. It was pretty awesome!"

Maddi + Dalton, Thank you for allowing us to share your day with you! The laughter and jovial nature of all your friends and family was a heartwarming experience and one that we’ll never forget!

Red Corral Ranch /// #kissinlogs /// Jessie + Taylor, the full film

What we truly love about Jess and Taylor is the way they appreciate sweet, intimate moments - quality time spent together going to the dog park with their pups and simply catching up with one another on the couch at the end of the day. They spent time on little details for the wedding day as well, from handmade road signs directing guests to different locations to the lovingly handwritten letters that they wrote to their wedding party.

You’re as sweet as Tennessee Whiskey.

When asked about musical preferences and genres they would like represented in their final film, Jessica and Taylor didn’t hesitate in their response: anything similar to Chris Stapleton. A musician known for his deep voice and highly relatable songs referencing the simple things in life like whiskey and love, we can see why Jess and Taylor enjoy his music so much. For their edit, we chose music by Matt McCloskey and Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. Drew Holcomb is a well known Nashville artist who often sings duets with his beautiful wife, Ellie Holcomb. Their style is lilting, simple, and pure country. Red Corral Ranch in Wimberley is like an oasis in the desert - filled with rolling hills, lush greenery, spectacular views, and twinkling lights that would make the night sky jealous. It was here that Jess and Taylor chose to say “I do” amongst their closest family and friends.

Afterwards, guests gathered at the big red barn to eat dinner. They were surprised to find they had to compete against other tables of guests and sing for their supper—in order to be released to the buffet, they had to serenade the bride and groom with a song about love. Their fun songs and animated performances only served to prove that Jess and Taylor are surrounded by a whole cloud of joyous friends who reflect their own humor and love for life.
