Brazos Hall /// TCU College Romance /// Sarah + Ryker, the full film

A Special Father-Daughter Moment

When Sarah joined her father, Jay, on the dance floor for their traditional father-daughter dance, they were serenaded by Sarah's maternal grandfather (Jay's father-in-law). This was not the first time Sarah's grandfather had sung at a wedding; he had also serenaded his daughter, Nancy, when she danced her first dance with Jay a generation earlier. On this night, Nancy stood on the edge of the dance floor and lovingly watched as Jay danced with Sarah, and the words of "Walk With You" by Edwin McCain floated through the chandeliers overhead.

I'll take this slow sweet walk with you You'll let go of my hand to say I do And he will discover just how blessed a life can be I know 'cause all those years ago your mom handed you to me."

As Sarah leaned her head on her dad's shoulder, she said to him, "I'm so glad we get to do this," and he said to her, "Look all around. Take it all in; it will be over in a second." So true.  We are so glad that we were able to film these beautiful moments so that you can look around and take it all in over and over again.

These are the kind of moments that give us #OneMoreReasonToBelieveInLove    Enjoy! [vimeo]https://vimeo.com/145561718[/vimeo] From their Texas style BBQ rehearsal dinner feast at County Line on 2222 to their Hill Country ceremony and downtown reception at Brazos Hall, this wedding was a sweet buffet of the tastes of Austin.

The Fairy-Tale Proposal in Venice:

After graduation from Texas Christian University, Sarah and Ryker both went with their families on a 10 day celebratory Mediterranean cruise to Spain, Greece, Turkey, and Italy, ending up in Venice. They were celebrating three graduations and milestone birthdays. Sarah had given up on Ryker proposing on this romantic trip. They told us, "We spent one extra night off the ship in Venice exploring the city. Ryker kept hinting at a gondola ride but Sarah thought they were extremely touristy and said she didn't want to go. She was totally surprised when on the family's walk to dinner Ryker's dad had arranged gondola rides "for the whole family."  The two of us went first, and so we went off through the canals of Venice with our gondolier singing to us in Italian (romantic cheese central). As we came out of the side canals into the Grand Canal and approached the Rialto Bridge (the 'bridge of love') Sarah saw both families with camera in hand standing at the top of the bridge. Just then, Ryker stands up and pulls the ring out of his jacket pocket and asked Sarah to marry him. As soon as she said yes and they kissed the entire bridge erupted into an Italian chant/song. It was absolutely breathtaking in so many ways! Sarah didn't care about the cheesy tourists anymore-she couldn't believe what a perfect proposal Ryker had waited so patiently to put together! Afterwards we celebrated alone at an Italian cafe drinking champagne before meeting our families for dinner on the grand canal. Seriously a fairy tale!" austin texas brazos hall wedding pic brock and co planner19Sarah+ Ryker, You truly have found something special in each other. We hope you always keep being silly, "snarf-snarf"-ing to your dog, and entertaining your families with your hilarity. Thank you for allowing us to capture these precious memories of what is really the beginning of your fairy-tale, with many more adventures to come. We wish you the best! xoxo, the Mason Jar Team

Four Seasons Hotel Dallas /// #AintNoMountainHighEnough /// Lexi + Ben, the full film Heirloom

Dallas Four Seasons Wedding DFW Events 38

We're excited to share another fabulous wedding coordinated by DFW Events in Dallas.  We've been working with them for almost a decade; so, when they introduced us to Lexi and Ben, we knew we would love working for these clients!  From their mountaintop proposal story to their passion for their (super cute) puppies, Lexi + Ben's wedding was everything a Spring wedding should be:  joyous, relaxed, and filled with laughter.  Lexi and Ben are originally from different cities, and through a series of events, separate hurricanes brought each of them to live in Austin, TX.  On the wedding day, rain clouds gathered overhead late in the evening, but no one was alarmed.... the outpouring of the heavens was like a rainfall of joy celebrating the love of this couple.

[vimeo]https://vimeo.com/133746894[/vimeo]

When we arrived at the Four Seasons in Las Colinas, it was obvious that everyone in the bridal party felt pretty relaxed--even with all the buzz about the Music awards being held in Dallas.  Jones ran into Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) while he was out filming landscape shots. He's like a magnet for celebrity run-ins!

Keeping the entire wedding day in one location allowed for the day to unfold in a very relaxed way--as they got ready, the girls could look out their windows to the lawn where the ceremony would happen.   The bridal party only had to walk a few hundred feet to the ceremony site that looked out over a beautiful pond on the Four Seasons golf course.  Even better, the bride's parents were able to arrange for a seriously cool surprise for the bride and groom:  a second line brass band met Lexi + Ben as they exited the ceremony, and they danced their way straight up to the reception pavilion.  What fun!

If you want to see more second line goodness, watch this second line tradition from a wedding in New Orleans.  We just love filming those fun traditions! dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 041 dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 044 dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 045 dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 046 dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 047 dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 048 dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 049 dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 050Dallas Four Seasons Wedding DFW Events 37dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 051Dallas Four Seasons Wedding DFW Events 22 dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 053dallas four seasons wedding dfw events 054Dallas Four Seasons Wedding DFW Events 27

Lexi and Ben,

We are so honored to have created your wedding film for you--we keep talking about how pleasant your family is, and how refreshing it is to be around so many smiling people.  Ben, the story of Nardos Imam creating an entirely new dress for your mother two days before the wedding (amazing!!!)  is such a great example of how your community knows how to turn lemons into even better lemonade and enjoy every second of life.   We hope you always enjoy even the darkest rainstorm, keep riding that fast train, and zing-zing-boom-boom-bam forever!

Christ Episcopal Church Spring Wedding /// Cannot Live Without You /// Hillary + Tom, the full film

Another unforgettable love story courtesy of Hillary and Tom. From their coordinating Seattle Seahawks socks to their exchange of love notes; written with purposeful misspellings and quirky nicknames, you'll see how truly genuine and hilarious this beautiful couple is and by the end, you'll wish you were friends with them. At the very least, you'll be so moved by the way their friends adore them, that you'll be inspired to become the same kind of loyal, joyful friend to those in your own community. That's one of the greatest things about love--by witnessing it in others, we become inspired to be better people to the ones that we hold dear.

Enjoy!

Texas Argyle House Garden Wedding Maggie Gillespie Planner 06 The day began for the ladies at the Argyle House. As their hair and makeup were being expertly styled, the wedding dress hung near a window with the light streaming through the sheer outer layers of the skirt. As everyone admired the dress, Hillary confessed that she tried on nearly 70 dresses before firmly choosing this particular gown from Julian Gold. With sweet tears in her eyes, Hillary's mother showed our cameras a lovely family bridal heirloom. It was hidden on Hillary's new gown in the layers of the skirt---pieces of lace from her own wedding gown from years ago. Texas Argyle House Garden Wedding Maggie Gillespie Planner 07 It's hard to say which moment from this film is our favorite since we have quite a few, but one moment our entire team especially loved was the "first look" between Hillary and Tom. As they saw each other for the first time in their wedding attire, it was as if they were truly seeing each other for the first time. They were both overcome with emotion and burst into tears and laughter. It's these true, emotional moments that we love to capture on film. Couples can often spend many months planning their weddings, only to have the day fly by in an instant. We love that we get to preserve the beauty of the details and the beauty of these emotions in a way that allows our clients to re-experience each heartfelt moment for years to come. On some days we compare it to time-travel. Other days, we compare it to magic. Everyday, we are always thankful to help preserve these memories! christ episcopal church 03christ episcopal church 06christ episcopal church 07 christ episcopal church 01 christ episcopal church 02 christ episcopal church 04 christ episcopal church 05 christ episcopal church 08The ceremony was held at Christ Episcopal Church and their officiant remarked that in dating, people often are putting on airs, but Hillary and Tom met when they were "sweaty, dirty, and completely themselves." They met at a Crossfit gym!

Hillary and Tom,

We join your family and friends in congratulating you, and we thank you for allowing us to capture so many fun and sweet details about your love.  May you always continue to be able to be "completely yourselves" in each other's company!

Best Wishes,

Father-of-the-Bride Themed Garden Wedding /// #TheHandsomeHowards /// Meredith + Anson, the full film

"Anson, you're one lucky guy"

Be prepared to be inspired by love. This magnolia-filled Southern garden wedding had more than enough laughter and love to fill up a landscape.  Over the course of the film, you'll discover why Anson is one lucky guy, how Meredith has 19 bridesmaids and even more treasured memories, and how a funny card with a picture of a bottle of tabasco sauce set their love story in motion. The weekend began with a fantastic fall-themed rehearsal dinner at the Bay City Country Club. With deep roots in Texas, the father of the bride revealed that due to the wonderful people and enduring friendships that Matagorda County had provided to their family, he truly felt that "I wasn't born in Matagorda County, but I got here as quickly as I could."

"He's a modern day version of John Wayne!"

On the day of the wedding, Anson and his groomsmen set out for a skeet shoot at Red Bluff Ranch.  Later, they dined on a hearty BBQ lunch at the ranch house, where Anson gifted each groomsman with custom monogrammed shotgun cases. Meanwhile, the ladies enjoyed a magnolia themed brunch with a live harpist playing classical music.  Each bridesmaid was presented with a pewter magnolia embossed tray, and Meredith was given a beautiful mirror-faceted box with letters from each friend, recounting her favorite memory with the bride.

So, back at the bride's childhood home, Elizabeth Swift  and her fantastic crew from Swift + Company bustled in both the front and back gardens setting up every detail.  Magnolia leaf garlands stretched as far as the eye could see in all of the decor---from the circular bar that wrapped around Meredith's favorite live oak tree to the massive chandelier overhanging the acrylic dance floor that had been built just above the family swimming pool.

Later at the Bay City Country Club, Meredith shared a very sweet moment with her bridesmaids when she revealed her wedding dress to them for the first time---a couture dress inspired by her own design.

Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Special details and tokens were very important to Meredith and showcased in her bridal attire. She had a garter worn by many of her Kappa sorority sisters with each one's initials and wedding date embroidered around the edges in baby blue. Meredith also wore a 1945 British sixpence in her shoe that belonged to Anson's great grandfather, William Anson. He had moved from England to settle the Head of the River Ranch in Christoval, Texas, which is where Anson eventually proposed to Meredith.  Traditionally, a sixpence is a symbol that the couple will be blessed with love, happiness, and success. keely thorne wedding planner 054keely thorne wedding planner 062 keely thorne wedding planner 063keely thorne wedding planner 069keely thorne wedding planner 066keely thorne wedding planner 071keely thorne wedding planner 072

 Oh, Happy Day!

Guests were greeted at cocktail hour during the wedding reception by the Choraleers and bountiful seafood buffets.  They mingled on the front lawn until the gates to the back gardens opened, and the Choraleers sang around them as they passed through the gates to the reception. The gorgeous cakes were positioned just inside the English manor house along with special photographs of the bride and groom.  Anson's cake was especially spectacular---a beautiful chocolate sculpture of his hunting dog, Gunner, in pursuit of quail perched on chocolate-sculpted trees.  Guests could treat themselves to a coffee bar while watching a slideshow of the newlyweds in their early years growing up with their familes.  Additionally, party attendees indulged in an enticing candy display featured in apothecary jars reminiscent of an old world pharmacy.  Outside, lavish buffets were positioned under each tent and along several garden pathways. Stockholm lanterns hung from the wild branches of live oak trees as they stretched toward the starry sky above, illuminating the festivities that ended a perfect day.

Barton Creek Resort Wedding //// May Your Life Be Like Fine Wine //// Samantha + Brennan, the full film

Austin Whitt Experience Napa Elegance Wedding Photo 002

"May Your Life Be Like Fine Wine"

What makes a new wine wonderful?  According to the father of the bride, it is the inner taste of the grape in addition to its outer beauty.  It is the time and obstacles overcome while ripening on the vine that makes this flavor shine.  Lastly, it is the mixture of the grapes that creates a new flavor entirely, one that is even better than the way the wine would have tasted if each grapes had been the sole flavor.  Combined, they are stunning.

And, so it is with Samantha and Brennan.  Having spent years of dreaming of their future, these two have embraced the deepest joys of love and the daily beauty of life.  We are truly inspired by their love---by their obvious affection for their siblings, they way they have honored the examples of love and generosity set by their parents, their good natured sense of play with their nieces and nephews, and even how the details they chose for their wedding day were a reflection of their love for each other and for their family.  They were so grateful and humble that they even made sure to praise their dedicated wedding planner, Gina Whittington, from the bandstage.

Samantha and Brennan, you truly are "loving hearts that care deeply for family and friends."

It's hard to believe that there would be a better  way for two wine aficionados to celebrate their wedding than by sharing some of their favorite things with their favorite people.   Samantha & Brennan savored their wedding by transporting the elegance and intimacy of Napa to the comforts of the Texas Hill Country--with a lakeside ceremony that took place on an acrylic stage positioned just over the bride's parents' home's infinity pool, and a reception in a glass-walled cathedral at Barton Creek Resort.  Both locations offered stunning views of the lake and the hills, with all the intimacy of a private celebration.

Guests were served delicious lemonade and cocktails as they arrived at the home of the bride's family for the ceremony.  In addition to these refreshments, guests were able to sample different wines from custom wine flights at the wedding reception.  They were provided with a card where they could jot notes about each wine and make their decision as to which wine they'd like to drink most throughout the evening.
