Ouisie's Table /// #ileicheralot /// Lauren + Jake, the Memory Tin
/There will never be another father who loves his daughter as much as I love you."
As Lauren’s dad addressed the crowd filled with friends and family snuggled together around the dance floor at Ouisie’s, a hush fell over the room. He spoke of a moment when Lauren was five years old and riding her bicycle. He remembered that as he looked at her face, he felt himself jump forward in time to the day he would walk his daughter down the aisle, and he thought, “how can I ever give this girl away?" What Jake did to earn this loving father's trust— that is the very thing about Lauren and Jake that gives us one more reason to believe in love.

Lauren and Jake are quite a pair—Lauren is passionate, kind, and (self-admittedly) a little rebellious —and Jake is goofy, adorable and honorable. Fun fact— Jake’s favorite movie is Dumb and Dumber, so the wedding hashtag #ileicheralot was based off of the line from the movie “I like her a lot.” Cute, right? Together, they love to travel and explore new places so it was only fitting that their wedding brought in people from many places to celebrate with them. For their wedding venues, they chose locations that felt the most like home to them. Jake and Lauren both grew up at the same church in Houston; MDPC is the place where they were both baptized and confirmed so it made perfect sense that it would be where they would make their vows to one another.
For their reception, they chose Ouisie’s—a swanky New Orleans' style restaurant in a bungalow-esque building with a beautiful, intimate garden setting and classic ballroom complete with ornate architecture. It was a night filled with laughter around dinner tables, joyous dancing, and of course, good food. Before the wedding, Lauren told us, "We are very close to our friends and family. Many of them are coming from out of town so we intend to really celebrate life during the event." .....and, just one more fun fact—you know your clients have an awesome taste in food when a Food Network star crashes their wedding to eat at the venue! Thankfully, Giada was kind enough to share some wedding well-wishes with us to deliver to Jake and Lauren.

The Proposal: How did it happen? If you are observant, you will have seen many references to golf throughout the wedding—from the topper on the groom’s cake to the guest book - which were chosen as a reflection of the proposal story. Lauren told us, “It happened at the Master's - 9th fairway. (It's actually on film...) "

As the bride got ready on her wedding day, the bridesmaids could see the sun rising over the Austin city skyline from their balcony. Jessica chose to wear a diamond necklace of her grandmother’s as well as carry her grandmother's bible down the aisle in addition to her bouquet. The bridal party was surrounded by beautiful children, including one sweet infant flower girl who slept as she was carried down the aisle during the ceremony!

Amy and Dallas are the kind of people who immediately draw you into their world with their warmth and honesty. Their lives are a model of the intensity of pursuit--from the way they live as entrepreneurs, to the way that they pursue one another. When we showed up to film their wedding day, Dallas was working on finalizing several surprises for his bride. From a surprise video to a surprise choreographed groomsmen dance, this groom took every opportunity to show his bride that he would never stop trying to bring delight to her life. Their love is truly extravagant.

When we asked how they like to spend time together, Amy and Dallas told us that they love to "eat good food and drink good wine with with good friends." To reflect that, the couple shared a glass of mixed wines as a symbol of unity during their ceremony.

Amber and Michael’s wedding day was perfect in every way. The oppressive heat of Texas summer had been replaced with warm afternoons and cool evening breezes. With a golden sun setting over the steeples of St. Martin’s Episcopal and blanketing the greens of Houston Country Club, guests gathered outside to enjoy a cocktail hour serenaded by Houston’s famous Choraleers.
Nardos Imam designed and created all of the family's celebratory dresses – the bride’s wedding dress, her mother’s dress, and her grandmother’s dress - to perfection. She attended the final bridal prep moments to make any final tailoring adjustments and ensure that the dresses were comfortable and that each ruffle and seam flowed correctly. Each dress was truly a work of art; her commitment to detail and her kind spirit was a sweet addition to the afternoon.
At the reception, Michael was excited to see the groom’s cake in the shape of an oil rig. Every moment was truly filled with delight as Amber and Michael looked at each detail in the ballroom.
The Proposal: How did it happen?
Amber and Michael share a love for traveling, cooking, and outdoor activities, which was evident in everything from their wedding invitations to their proposal story. Both families gathered at the Mueller’s ranch in the Bandera, Texas hill country for Thanksgiving 2014. Michael and Amber went on a walk Thanksgiving morning. They strolled down to what is known as “Lover’s Leap”. “Lover’s Leap” is a beautiful body of water with a one-of-a-kind waterfall flowing into it, so named by an old Indian tale. This was where Michael proposed. Michael and Amber walked back to the house to find everyone was already to celebrate. What a wonderful Thanksgiving!
