Ouisie’s Table /// #ileicheralot /// Lauren + Jake, the Memory Tin

There will never be another father who loves his daughter as much as I love you." As Lauren’s dad addressed the crowd filled with friends and family snuggled together around the dance floor at Ouisie’s, a hush fell over the room. He spoke of a moment when Lauren was five years old and riding her bicycle. He remembered that as he looked at her face, he felt himself jump forward in time to the day he would walk his daughter down the aisle, and he thought, “how can I ever give this girl away?" What Jake did to earn this loving father's trust— that is the very thing about Lauren and Jake that gives us one more reason to believe in love. Enjoy their film and their story: musical soundtrack: "Hey Ho" by The Lumineers, licensed through SongFreedom "Soul Birds" by Ryan Taubert, licensed through MusicBed Lauren and Jake are quite a pair—Lauren is passionate, kind, and (self-admittedly) a little rebellious —and Jake is goofy, adorable and honorable. Fun fact— Jake’s favorite movie is Dumb and Dumber, so the wedding hashtag #ileicheralot was based off of the line from the movie “I like her a lot.” Cute, right? Together, they love to travel and explore new places so it was only fitting that their wedding brought in people from many places to celebrate with them. For their wedding venues, they chose locations that felt the most like home to them. Jake and Lauren both grew up at the same church in Houston; MDPC is the place where they were both baptized and confirmed so it made perfect sense that it would be where they would make their vows to one another. For their reception, they chose Ouisie’s—a swanky New Orleans' style restaurant in a bungalow-esque building with a beautiful, intimate garden setting and classic ballroom complete with ornate architecture. It was a night filled with laughter around dinner tables, joyous dancing, and of course, good food. Before the wedding, Lauren told us, "We are very close to our friends and family. Many of them are coming from out of town so we intend to really celebrate life during the event."  .....and, just one more fun fact—you know your clients have an awesome taste in food when a Food Network star crashes their wedding to eat at the venue! Thankfully, Giada was kind enough to share some wedding well-wishes with us to deliver to Jake and Lauren. A video posted by Texas Wedding Videographer (@masonjarfilms) on Dec 2, 2015 at 11:30am PST The Proposal: How did it happen? If you are observant, you will have seen many references to golf throughout the wedding—from the topper on the groom’s cake to the guest book - which were chosen as a reflection of the proposal story. Lauren told us, “It happened at the Master's - 9th fairway. (It's actually on film...) " Lauren and Jake, Thank you for choosing us to tell your story, and for sharing your love of home movies and classic movies with us. Garden Wedding at The Argyle House /// Cannot Live Without You /// Hillary + Tom, the sneak peek

"I cannot live without this one here." Hillary and Tom are spunky, thoughtful, and truly top-notch people who are well respected and loved by all who meet them. When they are together, they enjoy spending their time doing crossfit, dancing, laughing, and singing. Their wedding day was filled with so many beautiful and personal touches that revealed their personalities; like showcasing the groom's love of the Seattle Seahawks with SeaHawk knee-socks worn by the bride along with Toms booties. The banquet tables at their reception were decorated with antlers and family heirloom silver teapots. The bride and groom also happen to share a birthday so they decided to plan their wedding for the day before their shared birthday. How fun it will be to celebrate their wedding anniversary and birthdays all in one weekend for years to come! Personally, we were especially touched by the kind things that the best man had to say about the groom.  It does say a lot about a person's character when men who served alongside him in the military almost a decade ago all make sure to re-unite with him to celebrate this joyous occasion in life.   Hillary and Tom, we hope you have many, many more occasions to celebrate in the years to come. For now, here's a sneak peek of what you can expect in their full film: Soundtrack: "Follow Me Home" by Daniel Ellsworth + The Great Lakes, licensed through MusicBed The Reception Hillary told us that she and Tom love to dance. In honor of that, they had special drink-savers made for their guests that could be placed over the top of a drink while they were dancing, ensuring that the staff would not clear their drink away while the guest was kicking it up on the dance floor. Hillary and Tom sipped their drinks from specially monogramed silver tankards that added to the aesthetic of their big day. The Proposal Hillary shared the proposal story with us: "He asked me at one of my favorite places: Brownland Farms in Tennessee.  At a horse show, he got down on one knee shaking. I don't even remember what he said, I just said yes!" When we asked Hillary what she was most looking forward to about her wedding, she said spending the rest of her life with her best friend…and cake! Their wedding cakes were set side by side at the reception entrance. The bride’s cake was a geometric, asymmetrical masterpiece with flowers cascading down the tiers and topped with the couple’s monogram. The groom’s cake was set with the Seattle Seahawk’s logo and surrounded by individual treats with the number 12 on each one. Congrats to Hillary & Tom--we can't wait to share your full film with you! xoxo, The Mason Jar Team Ceremony Venue: Christ Episcopal Church   510 Belknap Place San Antonio, TX 78212 Tel 210.736.3132 Ceremony Coordinator: Maggie Gillespie Designs Reception Venue: The Argyle   934 Patterson Ave. San Antonio, TX 78209 Photographer:  Jennifer Lindberg Photography Caterer: The Argyle Florist: Maggie Gillespie Designs Band: The Limelight

Barton Creek Resort Wedding //// May Your Life Be Like Fine Wine //// Samantha + Brennan, the full film

"May Your Life Be Like Fine Wine" What makes a new wine wonderful?  According to the father of the bride, it is the inner taste of the grape in addition to its outer beauty.  It is the time and obstacles overcome while ripening on the vine that makes this flavor shine.  Lastly, it is the mixture of the grapes that creates a new flavor entirely, one that is even better than the way the wine would have tasted if each grapes had been the sole flavor.  Combined, they are stunning. And, so it is with Samantha and Brennan.  Having spent years of dreaming of their future, these two have embraced the deepest joys of love and the daily beauty of life.  We are truly inspired by their love---by their obvious affection for their siblings, they way they have honored the examples of love and generosity set by their parents, their good natured sense of play with their nieces and nephews, and even how the details they chose for their wedding day were a reflection of their love for each other and for their family.  They were so grateful and humble that they even made sure to praise their dedicated wedding planner, Gina Whittington, from the bandstage. Samantha and Brennan, you truly are "loving hearts that care deeply for family and friends." "Tonight"  by Secret Nation "Soul Birds" by Ryan Taubert "Book Ends" by Adam Agin "Tasting Sunshine" by The Rival all musical track licensing provided by The Music Bed It's hard to believe that there would be a better  way for two wine aficionados to celebrate their wedding than by sharing some of their favorite things with their favorite people.   Samantha & Brennan savored their wedding by transporting the elegance and intimacy of Napa to the comforts of the Texas Hill Country--with a lakeside ceremony that took place on an acrylic stage positioned just over the bride's parents' home's infinity pool, and a reception in a glass-walled cathedral at Barton Creek Resort.  Both locations offered stunning views of the lake and the hills, with all the intimacy of a private celebration. Guests were served delicious lemonade and cocktails as they arrived at the home of the bride's family for the ceremony.  In addition to these refreshments, guests were able to sample different wines from custom wine flights at the wedding reception.  They were provided with a card where they could jot notes about each wine and make their decision as to which wine they'd like to drink most throughout the evening. Samantha and Brennan, Thank you so much for allowing us to create your wedding video.  We hope that the words spoken by your dearest family and friends always remind you of the joy that brought you to this very moment to make these vows.  Thank you for inspiring us with your love and devotion! Vista On Seward Hill //// Paper Moon Wedding //// Hannah + Scott, the full film

We met Hannah and her mother as they were spending a week together in Austin planning the details for Hannah & Scott's wedding.   As they shared their vision for the wedding--a garden draped in romantic roses, tables laced with sparkling white pumpkins, and jewels dripping from the ceilings--one other thing became abundantly clear to us.  Both the bride and her mother continually expressed that they valued the spirit of the event over any wedding detail--they wanted to celebrate Hannah and Scott's marriage by creating a warm, inviting celebration where they could humbly express their gratefulness to all who joined them to celebrate such a wonderful day. We continue to be grateful for clients who value love and community in this way. In this world, the most lasting thing is truly LOVE. Music licensed by Music Bed Brooke Annibale, "Now and Always" Daniel Ellsworth & The Great Lakes, "Follow Me Home" The Vista on Seward Hill is a stunning garden location just west of downtown that somehow is an oasis that transports visitors as if they were already deep in the Texas Hill Country.  Just a quick drive from South Austin, it features 2 separate banquet halls, numerous grecian statues, and a stunning set of fountains that house a diverse collection of koi and other colorful fish.  Guests can stroll through the gardens, enjoy the shade under the canopy of the live oak trees, or seek the comfort of indoor lounges. The bride wore Jimmy Choo shoes and a timeless, modern & glittering Badgley Mischka wedding dress that she had personalized with new stylistic details.   Her "send off dress" was a stunning Jovani gold gown with alternating sheer and embellished sparkling segments across the bodice.  Hannah's bridesmaids wore tea-length  champagne lace dresses from Anthropologie, coupled with cute little belts from the same store.   The bride's bouquet was wrapped with ribbon and  an heirloom charm created to commemorate the occasion  --- it featured the bride & groom's name with the wedding date. Her bouquet had another unique feature -- the succulents included in the bouquet had gold-painted tips!  It was a really neat way to add a modern, edgy touch to a traditional floral wedding bouquet.   Hannah's family included many personal, interesting ideas throughout the entire wedding. Guests could try the couple signature's drinks at the bar during the cocktail hour--with the bride's choice being milano mule made of Dripping Springs Vodka, asperol and Main root ginger brew, and the Groom's choice being an "Old Fashioned" comprised of Maker's Mark bourbon, a sugar cube, angostura bitters and an orange twist. The couple served their guests a variety of delightful cake desserts--because "love is sweet," as they said on their hand-lettered chalkboard signs.  Flavors included madagascar vanilla cake with fresh strawberry filling, heirloom recipe carrot cake with whipped cream cheese filling, valrhona chocolate cake with salted caramel filling and italian cream cake. During the reception, Austin musical legend Tony Harrison and his band played smooth jazz, country, and party songs while guests danced, had their caricatures drawn, enjoyed a freshly rolled cigar (thanks to Bobalu!), and had their photos taken at the Photo Booth.  Hannah mentioned to us during her planning process that she loves timeless, vintage things, and so one of her mother's friends had taken the time to paint a beautiful "paper moon" backdrop for the wedding's photo booth, and it had travelled all the way from Oklahoma to Texas to make its debut.  It was definitely a hit! Hannah and Scott,  You've got style and sweetness, but most of all, you have the kind of joy and confidence that will keep your love strong.  We love what the best man said in his speech--"may your love be modern enough to survive the times and old fashioned enough to last forever."   We wish you all the best!!! love, the Mason Jar Team xoxo   Venue: Vista On Seward Hill 6414 Bee Caves Rd, Austin, TX 78746    (512) 327-3843 Coordinator: Stefanie Yandell at Your Wedding Your Way Photographer: Anthology Photography (Eric & Laura Sartoris) Catering:  Pascal's Catering Company (Dan Cady, Mgr) Floral: The Flower Studio (Coby Neal) Entertainment:  Tony Harrison Music Photo Booth:  Russell Brammer Caricatures:  Theresa Bayer Strings Quartet: Hyde Park Strings (Carrie Miller) Wedding Cakes: Sweet Treets Bakery (Jackie McGrath) Event Lighting:  Austin Event Lighting (Sean Kreneck) On-site Sound Engineer:  Anthony Fernandez of the Vista on Seward Hill Cigars: Bobalu Cigar Co.  (Jeff Lipton) Hairstylist:  Holly Kottwitz, Fringe Salon Makeup Artist:  Maris Malone-Calderon Bridesmaids' wardrobe:  Anthropologie Bride's wardrobe:  Badgley Mischka, Jovani, and Jimmy Choo Ltd.

The couple was given special box of wines that were each etched with the year they will open the wine in the future, and guests filled this box with encouragement notes and messages that were also dated for the future anniversary when they wanted Samantha and Brennan to read their letter. Along with the stunning displays of roses, natural woods, and acrylics all impeccably designed by the talented team lead by Gina at The Whitt Experience, guests were treated to a whiskey bar, fine cigars, and a variety of wines all laid out for tasting at each individual place setting at the tables.   Their tablescapes included whitewashed chairs and ivory miramar linens coupled with mink sea sponge chargers, and the bridal party sat at 8' fruitwood farm tables with Monaco Jacquard napkins. Samantha and Brennan left their wedding ceremony to a parade line of gold, glittery confetti.  We love the way it sparkled in the sunlight!  It was truly a joyous, festive party filled with smiles and deep laughter. Rhode Island Kay Chapel Wedding /// To the Moon and Back /// Kristel + Austin, the full film

"I love you to the moon and back" Taken from the words of her favorite childhood book, Kristel and Austin felt that this phrase was the best theme for their wedding as a way to express to all of their friends and family the depths of their love.  Austin met Kristel while he was rooming with her twin brother in college.  While he quickly won her heart, their  love was tested through 6 years of long distance relating.  Throughout the wedding weekend, we heard their friends and family repeat a familiar theme as they spoke about Austin and Kristel-- what tied them together through that long journey of courtship was the strength of their love for each other and their love for making the lives of their friends and families better.   As Kristel's brother so poignantly said: finding love isn't like finding $20 on the ground--it takes a thousand acts of bravery and and a thousand victories over the course of time. Now, that is worth celebrating.   Enjoy their full film below! musical soundtrack licensed through The Music Bed or Creative Commons: "Devote" by Monako Davis "Border Blaster (Instrumental)" by Josh Woodward "Love You Strongly" by Amy Stroup "That Kid..." by Chris Zabriskie "Walk in Season" by Kelly Latimore For this Texan filmmaker, traveling to Rhode Island in the middle of the flaming hot Texas summer was like a ticket to paradise--every blade of grass in Newport was the most vivid shade of green, bunnies roamed unafraid across the lawns of the mansions on Bellevue Avenue, and the quiet roar of the ocean  was so calming as the waves gently kissed the shore and yachts gracefully made their way in and out of the port each morning.  Newport is certainly a perfect location to gather for a celebration! Both the rehearsal dinner and reception were held at Castle Hill Inn which faces the sunset.  On the wedding day, #teamrago (lead by Michelle Rago) were out early preparing the reception site, while Kristel and her bridesmaids prepped in an upstairs cottage overlooking both the reception lawn and the harbor. With yellow and navy as the guiding colors, a gorgeous and very fragrant assortment of florals graced each table and surface--daisies, sunflowers, hydrangeas, and more! Ringbearer and bridesmaid--joking around just before the ceremony.  The bridesmaids wore classic, navy tea-length a-line dresses with pearls and a beautiful variety of repurposed antique earrings. The reception began on the lawn with fruit-infused specialty lemonade varieties and "dark and stormy" signature Newport cocktails.  Guests were able to play rounds of lawn games like corn hole and croquet, wander to a canopied cigar lounge, sit and listen to a string quartet, and watch the boats as they slid silently across the water. Kristel and Austin, Congratulations on this next step in your journey through life together.  You are truly beautiful people with an inspiring story, and we can't wait to see more of the wonderful things you bring to the world with the light of your love.  Here's to many thousands of victories in your future! love, Mason Jar Planning & Design: Michelle Rago Destinations Confections & Cake:  Marie Soliday Decor: Stone Kelly Events Music & Entertainers: Vali Entertainment Venue: Castle Hill Inn Wedding Photographer: Brian Dorsey Studios Transportation: Rockstar Limo Wedding Videographer: Mason Jar Films Hotel:  Hotel Viking

Rhode Island Castle Hill Inn /// To the Moon and Back /// Kristel + Austin, the intro

"I love you to the moon and back" Taken from the words of her favorite childhood book, Kristel and Austin felt that this phrase was the best theme for their wedding as a way to express to all of their friends and family the depths of their love.  The night of the rehearsal dinner, as their guests gathered on the edge of the ocean where Castle Hill Inn sits nestled on the hills, they watched the sunset, cheered on the traditional clambake reveal, and listened to the story of Austin and Kristel. Sometimes, the story of how a couple meets is just an introduction to the story of how they learned to love one another.   These love birds have been pursuing one another's hearts for the past 6 years, and their wedding weekend was truly a celebration of their joy.  Every detail was a reflection of their love: home-made banners featuring hand-drawn cards from Kristel's students to signature Newport-themed cocktails (the "dark and stormy").  Even Kristel's toenail polish was "clambake red!" :) Enjoy this introduction to their full film, which is in the works as we speak: musical soundtrack by: Monako Davis and licensed through The Music Bed Rather than have the wedding in one of their hometowns, Kristel and Austin decided to plane their event in a location where the guests'  sole focus for could be spending time together to celebrate.  The city of Newport, Rhode Island is a coastal town with plenty to keep one entertained.  There's a bustling downtown area with some of Kristel & Austin's favorite coffee shops and seafood spots.  One could also explore Bellevue Avenue and tour any of the mansions seen there. Both the rehearsal dinner and reception were held at Castle Hill Inn, which faces the sunset.  At the rehearsal dinner, Michelle Rago's powerhouse team (affectionately called #teamrago) had set up the lawn with stunning buffets of treats, adirondack chairs, outdoor lounges, and a s'mores station for later in the night.  A wandering minstrel from Vali Entertainment softly crooned as the families dug into a delicious lobster dinner under the twinkling strands of lights strung from the large oak trees. Kristel and Austin, congratulations on this next step in your journey through life together.  You are truly beautiful people with an inspiring story, and we can't wait to see more of the wonderful things you bring to the world with the light of your love.   Planning & Design: Michelle Rago Destinations Confections & Cake:  Marie Soliday Decor: Stone Kelly Events Music & Entertainers: Vali Entertainment Venue: Castle Hill Inn Wedding Photographer: Brian Dorsey Studios Transportation: Rockstar Limo Wedding Videographer: Mason Jar Films Hotel:  Hotel Viking

Rustic Wedding at The Orchard || #becomingabeneski || Tyler + David, the full film

When Tyler and David met in middle school, they probably never imagined that their once a month, adult-chaperoned dates to the mall would end up here almost a decade later--with a crowd of doting grandparents, family and friends all speaking words of tribute to their steadfastness and to the maturity of their love.   Even David's brother remarked that the real reason their friends "set them up" together was because they both happened to be short (which neither of them are now). Because it's not how you start in a relationship--it's how you grow. As you watch their film, we hope you enjoy the emotional speech given by Tyler's father, the nostalgic, romantic design created by planner Stefanie Miles, and Tyler & David's seriously sweet first look before the ceremony. Musical Soundtrack: Instrumental version of  "The Last Piece of Pecan Pie" by Josh Woodward, licensed through Creative Commons "Forever Like That" by Ben Rector,  licensed through The Music Bed "Best Day of Your Life" by Katie Herzig, licensed through The Music Bed Warm and gentle, the sun filtered through the leaves of the wild oaks scattered throughout the lawn of the Orchard in Azle, TX as David waited to see Tyler for the first time.   When he finally saw her, he hugged his bride so tightly and whispered into her ear, "I'm gonna kiss all your makeup off!" Father of the bride dancing with his daughter. We simply love this gorgeous "Just Married" sign for the back of their classic getaway car, a 1941 Packard.  The typography style has a very 1940s or 1950s illustrative feel to it. The bridesmaids all wore blushing tints of pinks and greens in cocktail length dresses for this garden-themed outdoor wedding. All kinds of mint lemonades and refreshing drinks were available to drink as guests gathered for the ceremony on the lawn. This hesitant little ring bearer stole everyone's hearts with this move!  Don't fret, all this tiny gentleman needed was a guiding hand, and he happily walked down the rest of the aisle. One of the highlights of the evening was a very rambunctious toast from the bridesmaids. Their hip-hop styled speech was set to the tune of the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and told the love story from beginning to end: from the awkward moment Tyler and David met in middle school all the way to David's proposal at the beach! The girls also boldly busted some crazy dance moves that had the crowd roaring! Second Line Tradition – Moments from weddings at The Roosevelt + The Ritz-Carlton

If you've never experienced a NOLA celebration, well, then let me tell you something - they do weddings right in New Orleans.  Weddings are already unique amongst parties in that they are always a cheerful celebration of the joining of two circles of families, friends, and communities, and then adding the tradition of a second line just amps up the celebration level.  What is a second line?  A basic description would say that it is an informal parade of wedding guests lead by a live brass band through the streets of New Orleans.  But those words don't do it justice, because what a second line does is something bigger. Imagine, for a minute, that it's the end of a wedding reception.  You've spent the day being pampered with close friends and family, sipping mimosas, getting ready in leisure, taking portraits with everyone from your closest college friends to your great-great aunt, making sincere wedding vows, enjoying cocktails and home-style cajun cooking, and dancing the night away to live jazz, and now it's time to leave.  But just because it's time to leave the wedding doesn't mean it's going to be over so soon.   As you gather your things to leave, the sounds of a trumpet, tuba, and trombone are wafting through the halls to the ballroom.  Suddenly, a whistle guides you to handkerchiefs, and you're dancing down the street following this band, waving your handkerchief to the beat of the music.  As you dance through the french quarter streets with your wedding party, other NOLA residents wave and join in to dance with you for a few minutes.  Some of them will join your parade for the entire time!  Half an hour later, you can't wipe the smile off of your face from the fun that you've had.  Everyone you pass by cheers along with you, because everyone knows: this is special, and worth celebrating. Here are some scenes from second lines we've filmed in the past: Bridal Prep & Groom Prep: The Roosevelt Hotel New Orleans123 Baronne St  New Orleans, LA 70112(504) 648-1200Ceremony: Christ Church CathedralReception: Maison MontegutEvent Planner: Elyse Skansi, Tying the Knot Wedding CoordinationPhotographer: Mark EricCatering: Joel'sFlorist: Iris Floral and Event Design StudioCocktail Hour Music: John Royen Band2nd Line Band: The JaywalkersReception Entertainment: Crystal Clear Band   Photographer Paul Morse.   You can view his official images of the wedding here.Event Design by Linda Matzkin & Alexandra Kappel of Hopple Popple Events. Ceremony and Reception at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans Reception Band: Jimmy Church BandMakeup: Tisa from Tisa’s Beauty Bar Florist: Urban EarthSecond Line Band: The Storyville Stompers
