CINEMATIC HD WEDDING VIDEO

Even though we are primarily known for shooting super 8 wedding films, we began our venture into wedding videography with a different approach, modernly known as Cinematic HD Wedding Video. The first wedding videos I ever made included a lot of slow motion, plenty of black and white, no ambient sound, and a robust theatrical score.

As an Austin wedding videographer, I was late in coming to the party in shooting High-Definition (HD) wedding videos. Many of my friends who are Austin wedding photographers chided me, asking when I would finally go HD, but I had other priorities in mind, building a super8 wedding video business.

Shooting a super 8 wedding film is not only profitable, but it is fun, and why should I abandon that which is fun just because a new technology arises? If I can tell a story shooting a wedding video regardless of the tool I’m using, shouldn’t I just go with what I enjoy the most?

I can only thing of one other Austin wedding videographer at the time who was shooting super 8 weddings. He was referred by many Austin wedding photographers, and he got plenty of work, but because he was so busy, he didn’t have time to focus on making each wedding video the best it could be.

We swap lenses during a shoot, a feat that I am unable to do when I am shooting a super 8 wedding video. We talk tech and learn about our equipment from one another, and such collaboration makes the wedding photography and wedding videography all the better.
